MORE ABOUT COG-ED PSYCHOLOGY
My name is Debbie and I run Cog-Ed Ltd, a specialist teaching and emotional wellbeing service for children and adolescents and a training service for parents and professionals supporting children and young people. I have worked in the education and psychology sector for over 20 years. I am a Chartered Psychologist, an associate lecturer in education, psychology and child psychology, a doctoral researcher and a dyslexia specialist with a full assessment practicing certificate (APC). I understand that parents can often feel isolated and unsure where to go for help if a child is experiencing emotional difficulty or unmet educational needs, and teachers are often limited by budgets and time. I provide support, advice and training services to children, teenagers, parents and professionals and offer full diagnostic assessments and individual/group literacy support. I am passionate about social, emotional development and mental health, SEN, dyslexia, child and developmental psychology.
Cog-Ed Psychology offers one to one support, courses, workshops and training in all aspects of education, psychology and mental health, SEN/SEMH, emotional wellbeing and educational needs. As an experienced educator Cog-Ed draws on evidence based interventions which are structured and multisensory and a range of psychological interventions depending on the needs and requirements of the parent, child and setting.
I am a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a professional member of the Division of Teachers and Researchers in Psychology.
I am a professional member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific learning difficulty (PATOSS).
I hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) which enables me to carry out full diagnostic assessments. I also hold post graduate qualifications in low intensity psychological (CBT) interventions as well as training in dyslexia, transactional analysis, mindfulness, attachment and counselling.
Cog-Ed Psychology also offers a number of online interactive programmes to promote wellbeing and literacy which children and young people find particularly fun, and an engaging way to enhance their wellbeing and skills. I am also able to offer advice and signposting to further services that might help.
